The Year 9 netball team played Gosforth Academy on the 17th December. Having lost against Heaton Manor last week in their first game of the season, the girls were keen to correct their mistakes from last week and improve their performance as a team.
As their coach, I was extremely proud of the team during this game. They worked really hard on timing and their selection of pass which created more opportunities to score. Aimee Gray, Hannah Lee and Anna Hodgson scored some fantastic goals and had excellent movement in the circle. Players of the match goes to Mary and Tianna for their superb defensive play. The girls intercepted passes into the circle and allowed Gosforth very few chances to score. The final score ended 11-2 to St Mary’s in the first game against their B team and 11-7 in the second game against their A team to St Mary’s.
Overall, well done St Mary’s!!
