As part of our commitment to ensuring every student can access and succeed in Sixth Form, St Mary’s offers the St Mary’s Catholic School Sixth Form 16–19 Bursary Scheme. This scheme provides financial support for eligible students aged 16 to 19 who may otherwise face financial barriers to participating fully in education and training. Where a student meets the eligibility criteria, the bursary can help to reduce essential course-related costs and remove practical obstacles to learning. Support may contribute towards meals, essential books and equipment (including stationery), and travel to and from school, depending on individual circumstances and need.

Bursary funding is targeted at students in defined vulnerable groups and those experiencing the greatest financial disadvantage, and awards are made in line with the national guidance for the scheme. To ensure the bursary has the strongest impact, support is provided on the understanding that students meet the required standards of attendance, punctuality and behaviour, and that funds are used to support participation in their programme of study. Further details on eligibility and how to apply are provided on this website.
