Our theme in school this week is Be Alert which comes from the Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids in St Matthew’s Gospel. In the parable, Jesus speaks of bridesmaids waiting for the groom to arrive. Some have brought enough oil to keep their lamps burning but some bridesmaids were not as prepared and so miss the arrival of the groom. The message in school this week is, “Stay awake, for you do not know either the day or the hour.”
Niamh Boothroyd in Year 12 made her international football debut for the Northern Ireland Under 17s last weekend (playing against England). Apparently, she is only one of two players in the North-east to be playing international football in her age group and so this really is an incredible achievement. Huge congratulations to Niamh!
