Thoughts and Prayers Lent Week 1 23rd – 27th February Wilderness

11th February 2026Miss C Rossi
Please find attached the Thoughts & Prayers for after half term (Monday 23rd  –  27th  February).
This week is our first week of Lent with the theme “Wilderness” and the scripture is taken from (Matthew 4:1) “Jesus was led by the Spirit out into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”
Jesus didn’t go into the wilderness because He was lost. He was led there, guided by the Spirit. We all experience ‘wilderness moments’ — times when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or stretching and during Lent, we are invited to pause, reflect, and walk forward with honesty and courage.
The wilderness can be interpreted to be a place of challenge, quiet, honesty, and growth. For our teenagers it is important to highlight the fact that Jesus didn’t leave the wilderness defeated, in fact he left empowered. As such leading them to the realisation that their experiences has the ability to empower them.
‘Digital unplug’ this week invites students to reflect on what they have learned about themselves through their own struggles? How can they use that strength to help others?
Morning Prayer for week beginning 23rd  February:
  • Monday 23rd February – 9M
  • Tuesday 24th February – 9T
  • Wednesday  25th February – 7S
  •  Thursday  26th February – 9Y
  • Friday 27th February – 13S

Thoughts and Prayers 20th – 24th October 2025

15th October 2025Miss C Rossi
Our theme for this week is Do not Lose Heart and the scripture is taken from Luke 18:5 “Yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice.” This is a Spirit-led encouragement to remember that: You are heard. It fuels persistence — giving us strength to keep praying, hoping, and seeking justice even when it feels delayed.
In the Thoughts and Prayers this week, there are opportunities for students to discuss examples of injustice in school or society and how students can respond.
‘Digital unplug’ this week focuses on students Creating a ‘Wall of Voices’ where they post anonymous messages about what they care about.
Morning Prayer for week beginning 20th October:
Monday 20th October –8A
Tuesday 21st October – 8I
Wednesday 22nd October – 8N
Thursday 23rd October – 12S

Thoughts and Prayers 6th – 10th October 2025

3rd October 2025Miss C Rossi
Our theme for this week is Holy Spirit, and the scripture is taken from Timothy 1: 6 -7 “Fan into flame the gift of God… for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” This verse is a reminder and a commissioning: the Spirit is already in us, but we must choose to live by it. The Holy Spirit replaces fear with: Power — courage to live boldly in faith, Love — the heart to serve and forgive and Self-control — wisdom to act with discipline and grace.
In the Thoughts and Prayers this week, there are opportunities for students to think about what gifts they want to fan into flame and how to make those gifts relevant in our school community, their homes and the world.
‘Digital unplug’ this week focuses on what spark is inside us that we want to fan into flame.
Morning Prayer for week beginning 6th October:
Monday 6th October – 10A
Tuesday 7th October – 11R
Wednesday 8th October – 11M
Thursday 9th October – 10N
Friday 10th October – 10T

Thoughts and Prayers 22nd – 26th September

22nd September 2025Miss C Rossi
Our theme for this week is Possessions, and the scripture is taken from Luke 16:1 “There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions” This verse invites reflection on stewardship, responsibility, and trust.
Explored through the lens of the Holy Spirit, possessions are not merely material but spiritual gifts — time, talents, relationships, wisdom, and opportunities. It is a call to reflect on how we handle possessions as it reflects our values. Wastefulness or dishonesty reveals a lack of integrity and respect for the trust placed in us. This week, invites students to ask: What has God entrusted to me? Am I using it wisely, generously, and justly? How do I treat what belongs to others?

19th – 23rd May Thoughts and Prayers

15th May 2025Miss C Rossi

This week our theme is Love One Another and the scripture that inspired the theme is taken from John 13:31-35. This passage gives us an understanding of love, especially communal love. In it, Jesus gives his disciples a “new command” not just to love, but to love as he has loved them.

Thoughts and Prayers 5th – 9th May

2nd May 2025Miss C Rossi

Our theme this week is Success.

In this passage we are told that after a fruitless night of fishing, the disciples follow Jesus’ instruction to cast their nets on the right side, resulting in a miraculous catch. This story highlights that true success comes through obedience to God’s guidance and recognising His provision. It shows that success isn’t just about effort, but aligning with God’s will.
