Thoughts and Prayers 10th-14th June 2024

11th June 2024Miss C Rossi
The theme this week is Family and the scripture this week is taken from Mark 3:20-35 .
In this passage, Jesus encounters opposition from both his family and the scribes. It highlights Jesus’ growing conflict with religious authorities, as well as his redefinition of familial relationships based on spiritual rather than biological bonds. The passage explores the complex dynamics of family relationships in light of Jesus’ ministry and teachings, demonstrating how spiritual principles can redefine and reshape traditional notions of family.
There are opportunities for students to reflect on the significance of their own family traditions, prompting them to consider how these customs shape their personal identity, strengthen family bonds, and connect them to their broader cultural or community context. It also provides an opportunity for students to share personal experiences and insights with their peers.

Thoughts and Prayers 3rd – 7th June 2024 (Goodness)

5th June 2024Miss C Rossi

This theme come from a verse from Psalm 116:12, “What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?” which invites us to consider how we can respond to God’s abundant goodness and blessings in our lives. This question encourages us to reflect on the many ways God has shown His love and goodness and challenges us to think about how we can give back. We will also explore how our theme relates to World Environment Day 2024 (5th June), by encouraging our students to extend goodness to the natural world around them. Students will also learn about some key Christian dates marked by the Church in this week: the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (7th June) and the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary (8th June).

Thoughts and Prayers 13th – 17th May

10th May 2024Miss C Rossi

Our theme this week comes from John 4:11-16, the scripture emphasises the reciprocal relationship between believers and God. It states that by loving one another, we abide in God, and He in us. The verse highlights the presence and action of the Holy Spirit in our lives as evidence of our union with God. The phrase “He has given us of his Spirit” signifies the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within believers, which serves as a tangible manifestation of God’s presence and love. This indwelling Spirit not only confirms our relationship with God but also empowers us to love others selflessly, mirroring the love of God.

Thoughts and Prayers 6th – 10th May 2024

2nd May 2024Miss C Rossi
The theme this week is LOVE and the scripture this week is taken from John 15:9-17.
In this passage, Jesus is speaking to his disciples, imparting important teachings about love, friendship, and discipleship. It emphasises the centrality of love in the life of a disciple of Jesus, along with the importance of obedience to his teachings and the intimate relationship between Jesus and his followers. There are opportunities for students to reflect on ways in which they can spread love to one another and their community and also ideas to help them prioritise self-love.
