Controlled Assessments are extended tasks that students complete in certain subjects during Year 10 and Year 11.
Students sit Controlled Assessments at the end of a module of work and the marks awarded contribute towards their final GSCE grades. Controlled Assessments are carried out according to guidelines laid down by the awarding examination board. Below is a list of subjects in which Controlled Assessments are scheduled for this academic year at St Mary’s Catholic School. Approximate dates are also given as well as information about how much each Controlled Assessment contributes towards the overall final grade.
