We received a lovely email from the Principal Catholic Chaplain in the RAF, Rev (Sqn Ldr) David Skillen, who wanted to commend one of our students, Thomas Wynne in Year 8. Thomas recently attended the International Military Pilgrimage in Lourdes, France, as part of a large UK Armed Forces contingent. This event included military from all over the world. Thomas took part in range of events during this special event, including marching with the UK contingent, being selected to be part of the RAF Ensign colour-party, and meeting with military veterans at an evening reception. Rev Skillen describes Thomas as being a real credit to his school and to the RAF Air Cadets. He states that Thomas’ participation was outstanding.
Thomas tells us that there were 16,000 military personnel at the event and he was the only air cadet to participate from the UK. He said it was an amazing experience and he hopes to also take part next year. In the future, Thomas would like to be a military lawyer in the RAF. We are very proud of Thomas – what a really exceptional achievement!
