Some further great chess news!  St Mary’s ‘A’ team won a Year 7/8 tournament this week, involving 14 teams from six local schools.  This means that the team has secured a place in the national finals of the English Chess Federation’s Junior Chess Challenge, which will be held at the RGS in Jesmond on Saturday, 25^th March. They will compete against schools from across the country (many from the Greater London area) for a very prestigious title.  The members of this team are Otto Nemeth, Karthikeyan Nandakumar, Albert Pozarlik and Brayan Okojie Solomon.
